We discussed a different approach in our overall play for this match and what a difference it made. Brad Monelle opened the scoring after 5 minutes with a great run and finish following some good passing and movement. As the game settled down, the first attack from Frampton was to reward them as a great strike pulled them level. Our reply was instant from the kick off as Brad Monelle restored our lead with another determined run and super finish to put us 2-1 ahead. His hat trick came after 20 minutes from a looping cross from Oli Randall which Brad headed home to put us in control of the game. With forced changes throughout the team, everyone was playing their part as Frampton could not find a way through. Both Danny McCarthy and Jordan Knight slotted back into their full back positions and were playing very well as James Boulton and sweeper Kyle Curtis controlled the centre. Nathan Dawson and Dean Lapham were deployed in wide positions which gave us good options when attacking and this was to reward us with 2 further goals before the break from Nathan Dawson as on both occasions he moved in to slot the ball past the keeper from good crosses into the box.

Although we were pleased with our first half performance , it was important we continued the good play. Immediately after the re start, Brad Monelle scored his 4^th of the game and Craig Andrews also got onto the scoresheet with another good shot. Further chances were created but somehow they missed the back of the net. Craig Andrews was unlucky with 2 snap shots from close range and another terrific shot from Brad Monelle following a great run cannoned of the bar and a volley from outside the box just fizzed past the post. The midfield continued to dominate possession as Oli Randall, Mo Bouaziz and Charlie Frampton continued to play well. Charlie in particular enjoying the game in several key positions. Unfortunately we just couldn’t add to our tally and Frampton finished the game with a good team goal. However, our victory margin of 7 – 2 was good value and much deserved to keep us top.
